Tres Francais, Inc. owner Martine Boreal warmly welcomes customers to her boutique encouraging them to try on anything their hearts desire. The beautiful boutique nestled in Winter Park’s Hannibal Square exclusively carries collections by French Designers. Her collection includes Chacok, one of the most sought after lines. The boutique features attire for both business and casual, in all sizes and for all lifestyles.

Tres Fracais started selling exclusively through private parties. The fashion was so well accepted that Ms. Boreal decided to open a boutique. The business had a great start; however, within months of opening the doors the business was devastated by Florida historic hurricanes. There was physical damage to the facility as well as the loss of revenue from closure. In an effort to reopen the business quickly, Ms. Boreal used personal money to repair damages and provide working capital for the business. This was detrimental to the new business because clients are always looking for the latest fashions and due to limited funds, it was impossible to get new inventory.

Martine turned to the Small Business Administration (SBA) for a disaster loan, which proved very challenging. Her loan was placed at the bottom of the loan officer’s priority because of miscommunication. She finally contacted Pauline Davis, Certified Business Analyst at the Small Business Development Center at University of Central Florida. Pauline coordinated with the loan officer and Ms. Boreal to provide the necessary information to expedite the loan process. After several months, the loan was finally approved and the funds disbursed. Ms. Boreal states, “I am very pleased with the services offered by the SBDC and wondered if my business would have survived without the assistance”. Some businesses were not as fortunate and since the hurricanes were forced to close their doors. She is very positive about her business and looks forward to launching her marketing strategy.
