Serving Central Florida

The Small Business Development Center at the University of Central Florida, is located in the National Entrepreneur Center inside the Orlando Fashion Square Mall and provides business seminars and free one-on-one business counseling for small business owners.

The SBDC at UCF serves an eight-county area that includes Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia counties, and maintains six sub-center offices in addition to the main office in Orlando. The SBDC at UCF is a member of the Florida SBDC Network, a statewide service funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Areas of Assistance

Accounting: asset management, record keeping systems and procedures.

Finance: ratio analysis, breakeven analysis, financial projections and business valuation.

Marketing: pricing, advertising and promotion, marketing planning, market research and exporting.

Operations: production and inventory control, project management, risk management and energy conservation.

New Venture Planning: start-up information, feasibility analysis, business planning and general business consulting.

Technical Assistance: preliminary patent searches, patent, copyright and trademark, and technology transfer and SBIR/STTR.

Certified Business Analysts

Our certified business analysts (CBAs) are what set the SBDC apart from other service providers. Our trained and experienced counselors are available to discuss ideas and provide personalized, confidential guidance free of charge. Areas in which our CBAs can help include: business planning, market research, advertising, financial analysis, loan assistance, recordkeeping, taxes, selling to the government, business valuation, business start-up and more.
