External advice is critical to the development of a business. An entrepreneur is typically an expert on what the business does but does not have expert knowledge on all aspects of running a business. In order to grow to the next level, a business owner must be willing to expand their knowledge, try new ideas and be willing to change.

The Advisory Board Council program, funded by the Orange County Government, acts a matchmaker between established businesses and area professionals to create personalized advisory boards. The program is offered to businesses at no cost who have at least two years experience, $500k in revenue, and eight employees or more.

Areas of Expertise

Area professionals who volunteer their expertise as members of an advisory board offer expertise in accounting, banking, finance, law, marketing, sales, strategic planning, human resources, and technology.

How the Program Works

Business owners who qualify for the program will meet with every assigned board member individually once the board members are determined. For one year, you and your assigned board will work on critical issues facing your business. Meetings are held every two to three months with individual advisor contact between meetings.

Submitting an Application
