Before Applying for a Management Department Internship, please note: The Management Department cannot grant internship credit for past employment or current and on-going employment. This includes changes in job responsibilities, promotions, and other functional movement within a company. On-going employment includes summer employment that extends over multiple summers with a single employer. In order to be considered for internship credit, the prospective internship students must have all internship paperwork both submitted to and approved by the Management Department PRIOR to starting work. Prospective students who begin work prior to receiving Management Department approval do so at their own risk. Students desiring internships must submit a complete internship application packet no later than the Wednesday prior to EXAM WEEK of the semester preceding the internship in order to be considered for an internship. All internship paperwork must be submitted and approved prior to the first scheduled day of classes in the semester when the internship will be taken. NO INTERNSHIP PAPERWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED OR PROCESSED DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF CLASSES. Applying for a Management Department Internship: Students wishing to apply for a credit-bearing internship from the Management Department must follow the following process: 1) Download and read the Internship Syllabus and Internship Checklist to determine whether you meet the minimum qualifications; 2a) Make an appointment with the UCF Experiential Learning Center (first floor of BA-1) to review your qualifications against their position database, or 2b) Review the COBA Career website for internship and recruiting fairs, on campus interview schedules, and other employment opportunities,or 2c) Review the internship bulletin board outside room BA1-315 for potential opportunities; 3) Once you find an appropriate opportunity, arrange for and complete an interview with the potential employer. 4) Once you find a suitable position and are offered an internship, print out all required Employer and Student Forms and submit a portfolio with all forms properly completed and signed no later than the last Wednesday of classes prior to final exam week in the semester preceding your internship semester.
