Ms. Lauryn Migenes
Originally from New York, Lauryn Migenes received her Bachelor of Science from Rowan University in New Jersey. In 1992, she was recipient of the Rotary International Scholarship which enabled her to achieve her Master of Business Administration from the University of Wales at Aberystwyth, Great Britain. Her Master's thesis investigated international marketing strategies for a Welsh food product and was published in both the United Kingdom and the United States. Her professional experience includes marketing and management positions in telecommunication and pharmaceutical corporations in New Jersey. Since 1998, Ms. Migenes has been a faculty member of the College of Business at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. Her teaching portfolio includes courses in International Management, Global Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Organizational Behavior, “Cornerstone” Lab, Integrated Marketing Communications, Introduction to Leadership, Foundations of Leadership and Principles of Marketing. Additionally, she directed the General Motors Marketing Internship program which enabled students to analyze the luxury automobile market to design and implement promotional campaigns which raise awareness for Orlando GM dealerships. Ms. Migenes is a faculty fellow for the LEAD Scholars program. This program includes an intensive two year curriculum designed to develop student’s leadership skills through the application of service learning principles, while achieving academic excellence. She is recipient of the Keeth Elementary Service Learning Award, the UCF Service Learning Appreciation Award, and the Florida Campus Compact Certified Scholar Award. Lauryn Migenes has developed curriculum for Seminole County Corporate College and UCF LEAD Scholars, created case studies for the US Department of Defense and delivered presentations at the Model UN Conference, International Conference on Teaching and Learning and UCF Faculty Development Conferences. Lauryn Migenes is also active in the community working with organizations such as New Hope for Kids, Second Harvest Food Bank, Give Kids the World, Make a Wish Foundation, East Orange Action Community Center, and Junior Achievement. Through her classes and activities, she instills in others the Chinese proverb “Tell me and I’ll forget, show me and I might remember, involve me and I’ll understand.” Lauryn Migenes is an active member of the Executive Board of Trustees of Boys Town of Central Florida, a non-profit organization that provides emergency and residential shelter for abandoned, abused and neglected children. |
