The Whitehouse
Dear Team ___:
I have received a report from Richard Clarke (page 330 in the ISM 6305 text) which makes me somewhat pessimistic about our future economic prospects in the U.S., and it is this Clarke report that prompts me to ask you to carry out an analysis for me.
If we assume that all of Clarke's forecasts are substantially accurate if we make no changes in our computing and internet infrastructure: how much could we as a nation afford to invest in 2003-2004 in rebuilding our internet infrastructure to eliminate all of the threats that Clarke identifies.
Thank you,
George W. Bush
President
p.s. Please include an influence diagram influence of my decision as to whether I should back this investment or not; also sketch out decision trees for my personal decision and for the decision from the point of view of the nation as a whole.
