Analysis of relative merits of Web of Science and EBSCO as
sources for these EndNote files:
The databases are not consistent but the following generalizations may help
understand why two databases are provided.
(They are provided in zip format since there are some who may have trouble
downloading .enl (EndNote Library) files.)
Web of Science is more consistent in case of titles, includes terminal page
number, includes times cited and cited references, author's address; whereas
EBSCO includes first names of authors, more consistently provides keywords and
abstracts and makes available citations from inception of publication.
Since there are advantages to both and no easy way to eclectify the files,
rather than favor one of the other, both versions are provided.
To be reconciled: Even after adjusting for the time frame there's an unresolved 40-citation discrepancy in favor of the Web of Science version.
To get the Titles to conform to headline case (Chicago Manual of Style, 15th ed, 8.167) the following export style and import filter may be helpful. [If titles are not in headline style in EndNote, tech support denies that any method exists to convert them in situ. The workaround is to export using the export style provided above to a text file, then import into a new EndNote file using the import filter provided above. Additionally, it may be necessary in EndNote to go to Edit, Preferences, Change Case and provide a list under the heading "Do not change the case of the following terms".]
Note to user: All files provided in as-is condition.
