The UCF 1-year Cohort MBA Program is an accelerated MBA for honors level
students. It has been structured to allow every student the opportunity to apply
what they have learned in their MBA studies before graduation. By engaging in a
practical work experience, students gain real-world experience and are able to
relate classroom and textbook material to realistic business situations.
Businesses that support student learning by hiring interns have the opportunity
to employ high-energy, talented college graduates in any functional business
area within their organizations.
Partnering with UCF in the MBA internship program employers is an investment
in your organization’s future. With such a relationship, employers can:
- help the College reach its educational mission.
- access the expertise of our top-notch faculty.
- maintain year-round access to highly motivated pre-professionals.
- employ a flexible, cost-effective workforce not requiring a long-term
employer commitment. Interns can provide temporary solutions to hiring
needs. Interns can meet corporate peak-demand needs when a full-time
position cannot be allocated.
- complete stalled or delayed projects. UCF MBA interns are prepared to
make an immediate contribution to your organization by completing needed
projects that have been delayed in deference to more pressing needs. UCF MBA
interns can provide a fresh perspective to on-going or current projects.
- reduce recruiting costs. Sponsoring interns is an excellent way to
evaluate candidates for subsequent full-time employment. Interns that are
hired as employees have an advantage over other newly hired employees. Since
the intern is already familiar with the organization, he/she will require
less training.
- provide a realistic job preview to potential employees that can reduce
turnover costs. Internships provide a solid foundation for students in their
career pursuits and allow them to gain valuable knowledge.
- reap cost savings over more traditional internship programs. An intern
hired in August can maintain his/her internship for up to four semesters,
providing maximum productivity. Traditional interns are only employed for a
semester and leave the company just as they are reaching optimal
productivity.
- build campus goodwill. Sponsoring an intern can help you increase your
on-campus presence by “word-of-mouth” from students who have first hand
experience and knowledge of your firm. This creates a lasting positive image
of your organization for the students, faculty and staff at UCF, improves
your campus visibility and is good PR for your organization.
Internships can last for up to four semesters, depending on the student’s
schedule and graduation date. For information on how to get started with the
